Asparagus in Milky Sauce

This recipe appeared on Week 10 of Nataniël's Festive Kitchen and the theme was: Heaven at Home (Fresh Milk).

Ingredients

1 tbsp Clover Butter
1 tbsp flour
1 cup Clover Fresh Full Cream Milk
100 g Marie Harel Camembert, skin removed
50 g Clover Cheddar Cheese, grated
2 large bunches fresh asparagus

Preparation method
  • Heat butter in saucepan. Stir in flour
  • Slowly add small amounts of milk and stir until sauce is smooth
  • Add cheese and stir until cheese has melted
  • Wash and dry asparagus and place in oven dish
  • Pour milky sauce over
  • Bake in oven at 180˚C until sauce just starts to brown
