Sponge Cake with Strawberry Syrup & Cream

Sponge Cake with Strawberry Syrup
Ingredients

350g fresh strawberries
juice of 1 lemon
castor sugar to taste
freshly ground black pepper
1 vanilla or lemon sponge cake (see recipe here)
Clover Dairy Whipped Cream
fresh fruit of your choice for garnishing

Preparation method
  • Puree strawberries
  • In a saucepan cook strawberries, lemon juice and sugar together until syrupy
  • Season with a pinch of black pepper
  • Cut cake into wedges
  • Pour strawberry syrup over
  • Garnish with whipped cream and fresh fruit and serve
