Most cycling races are very short and don’t really challenge cyclists. Week after week the sprinters walk away as the champions. This leads to problems when competing overseas, since our cyclists are not used to long distances. H&A Tours hence decided to organize a more challenging tour.

The tour exceeded all expectations and gave young cyclists a chance to come forward. It also brought about a few surprises. The tour was a qualifying race for the Africa Championships as well as the Tour of Rwanda. Five out of the six cyclists elected for the South African team also excelled in the Clover Lowveld Tour.

Some of the best participants described the tour as the closest they have ever come to European standards in this country. A lot of requests have been received for the tour to continue or even be extended to five days. We want to thank Clover for making the tour possible. With the help of Clover, H&A Tours are looking forward to seeing the tour grow in future.
