The rhino has made headlines in abundance this year and this due to the extreme awareness of how this beautiful specie that has been around for more than 50 million years is being slaughtered to extinction. Conservationists say rhino poaching has increased dramatically because of high demand for rhino horn in Asia, where it is used for medicinal purposes. South Africa is currently losing rhinos to poaching at a rate of one a day.
Clover SA, one of South Africa’s largest dairy organisation extended their “We Care” initiative by donating R20 000.00 towards saving the rhinos. “Clover cares for human rights as well as conservation as we need to help conserve the wild for future generations to enjoy and learn from. We are all collectively responsible to contribute in any way we can to save our planet which includes animals as a vital part of our ecosystems.” Says Johann Vorster, Clover’s Chief Executive
“Every bit of contribution counts and we are thankful for the support to combat the poaching of rhinos countrywide.” Says John Turner, Chairman Counter Poaching and Ranger Support Services. |
