Clover - Butternut Chips
 
Butternut Chips



Children like to nibble, especially on
starches such as chips. Here are a few alternatives to keep them from going to
the tuck-shop for the popcorn-and-potato variety. Add a tub of their favourite Clover Cream Cheese for a dip!

  • 1 small butternut
  • freshly ground black pepper
  • salt
  • 5 ml cayenne pepper
  • 125 ml Parmesan
  • oil for deep-frying 





1. Remove skin and seeds from butternuts.
2. Cut into paper-thin slices.
3. Deep-fry in hot oil.
4. Drain on kitchen paper.
5. Sprinkle with spices and grated parmesan.
6. Add a tub of their favourite Clover Cream Cheese for a dip.

Tip: Butternut and sweet potato chips can also be made by drying them in the oven at 50°C for about 50 minutes.
