Ingredients
    • 375 ml (210 g) cake flour
    • 15 ml baking powder
    • 2 ml salt
    • 30 ml sugar
    • 300 ml Clover Full Cream Fresh Milk
    • 2 eggs, separated
    • 60 ml Clover Springbok Butter - Unsalted, melted
    • Clover Ghee for frying
    • To serve
    • syrup, honey or caramel sauce
Method

    Sift dry ingredients except sugar together.

    Add sugar and mix through.

    Beat milk, egg yolks and melted butter together.

    Add to dry ingredients and mix until smooth.

    Beat egg whites until soft peaks form.

    Lightly fold into batter and leave to stand for 30 minutes.

    Bake in a preheated, greased waffle pan until steam stops coming out and waffle is golden brown.

    Serve warm with syrup, honey or caramel sauce.

    Tip

    A moderated hot temperature is ideal for waffle making.

    When a few drops of cold water sprinkled on heated grids form white balls bouncing quickly over grids, the grids are ready.
