Clover Pumpkin Pie Milkshake

Enjoy the earthy flavour of pumpkin in an unusual milkshake. As seen on Expresso Morning Show or Afternoon Express on SABC 3. Recipe by Nicole Snelling

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 pumpkin, for carving
  • 1 cup Clover fresh full-cream milk
  • ½ cup vanilla ice cream
  • 1 tablespoon maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • ½ teaspoon nutmeg

Method

  1. Make a hole on the top of the pumpkin and hollow out the pumpkin.
  2. Remove the seeds from the flesh, place the flesh on a baking tray, drizzle with a tablespoon of olive oil and roast it in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes on 180°C.
  3. While the pumpkin is roasting, carve your pumpkin for Halloween.
  4. Allow the roasted pumpkin to cool completely.
  5. Place 1 cup of roasted pumpkin and the rest of the ingredients into a blender, then blend until smooth.
  6. Serve immediately with a sprinkle of cinnamon and orange or purple paper straws.
