INGREDIENTS
- 1 loaf ciabatta bread
- 100 g (1 cup) Clover Cheddar, grated
- 250 ml (1 cup) Clover Classic Mayonnaise, Strong
- 20 g (handful) chives, chopped
- 1 tablespoon wholegrain mustard
- 2 (1 tablespoon) garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3 teaspoons black pepper, ground
Method
- Preheat oven to 200 ̊C
- Cut ciabatta bread into thick slices, but don’t slice through the base.
- Mix the cheddar, mayonnaise, chives, mustard, garlic, salt and pepper in a bowl.
- Spread a thick layer of the cheese mixture between each slice.
- Wrap the loaf in foil and place on a baking tray.
- Bake for 20 – 30 minutes or until the cheese melts and bread is lightly golden and crisp.
- Serve hot with other braai sides.
TIPS:
- This bread can be made the day before, just keep it wrapped in foil until ready to bake.
- Add some fresh chopped chillies for a spicy version.
