Ingredients
    • 875 ml (490 g) cake flour
    • 750 ml (600 g) sugar
    • 7.5 ml salt
    • 5 ml bicarbonate of soda
    • 5 ml ground nutmeg
    • 5 ml ground cinnamon
    • 5 ml ground cloves
    • 250 ml (100 g) chopped nuts
    • 250 ml (230 g) Clover Mooi River Butter, melted and cooled to room temperature
    • 4 eggs, beaten
    • 500 ml (450 g) cooked pumpkin, mashed
    • 160 ml water
Method

    Preheat oven to 170°C.

    Grease two loaf tins with butter.

    Sift the flour, sugar, salt, bicarbonate of soda and spices together in a bowl.

    Add the nuts and mix through.

    Mix the butter, eggs, pumpkin and water together.

    Add to the dry ingredients and mix well.

    Bake for 1 - 1.5 hours or until breads spring back when lightly pressed.
