Clover smashed pavlova trifle

A combination of two delectable desserts. As seen on Expresso Morning Show or Afternoon Express on SABC 3. Recipe by Nicole Snelling

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups Clover fresh cream
  • 2 cups nixed berries
  • 2 cups meringue, roughly broken up into pieces
  • 4 – 6 brownie squares, roughly broken up into pieces
  • ¼ cup flaked almonds, toasted
  • Gold or silver shimmer or glitter

Note: This trifle recipe needs to be made just before serving so that your meringue can remain crunchy and fresh.

Method

  1. Build your trifle in a medium-large transparent glass bowl.
  2. Whip the Clover fresh cream to a stiff peak using a whisk or an electric beater.
  3. Lay the brownie bits at the base of your bowl. Then top with half the cream, then add half of the crushed meringue.
  4. Add half the amount of berries, then repeat with some more fresh cream, meringue, and fresh berries.
  5. Finish off your trifle with some toasted almonds.
  6. To give your trifle an extra festive flair dust/dip the berries on the last layer with some gold or silver edible glitter/ shimmer.
