Vegan Chocolate Oats Bowl

A super healthy, deliciously dark chocolaty breakfast bowl, sweetened naturally with fruit and maple syrup.

INGREDIENTS

For the oats:

  • 50 g (1/2 cup) oats
  • 250 ml (1 cup) Clover Good Hope Soy Milk
  • 5 ml (1 teaspoon) vanilla essence
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • pinch of salt

To serve:

  • 1/2 cup blue berries
  • 1/2 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1/2 tablespoon flax seeds
  • 1 – 2 tablespoons almond or peanut butter
  • Maple syrup to taste

Method

For the oats:

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a saucepan.
  2. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat and cook until the oats are cooked through (about 10 minutes).
  3. Add more soy milk if needed and to reach your preferred consistency.

To serve:

  1. Scoop the warm oats into a serving bowl.
  2. Top with the blue berries, chia seeds, flax seeds and almond butter, drizzle with maple syrup (to taste).
  3. Serve warm.

 

TIPS:

  • Get creative with your toppings! Add cocoa nibs, different types of berries or even hemp seeds.
  • Mix in some pea protein for an extra protein boost.
